DAY 1- DARWIN TO LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK
Meet Your Guide and Begin the Journey

Start your day by heading to the front of your Darwin accommodation, where you’ll find your expert tour guide ready to whisk you away into the outback.

Initial Exploration

Arriving in Litchfield begin your immersion by tackling some of the more common locales and options.  Included in this will be short hikes on shaded pathways, swims in clear creeks and waterfalls and general out and aboutedness ! As the sun slides left we make our way to our camping / glamping spot for the night where you can relax whilst your guide prepares the evening meal.

DAY 2 - Explore some more
Early Start and Light Breakfast

Begin your day by rising early with the birds, savouring a light breakfast before embarking on our next set of adventures in Litchfield National Park.

Off-the-Beaten-Path Exploration: A Bush Walk to a Remote Waterfall

Today’s highlight is a bush walk leading to a remote waterfall, exclusively accessible by foot. Secluded, quiet, and pristine, this experience offers an unparalleled connection with nature. As you traverse the path, delve into the knowledge of native foods and resources, gaining insights into the traditional methods that the indigenous owners utilized for survival and continue to employ today.

Educational Insights: Traditional Survival Techniques Unveiled

Enrich your understanding of the ingenious techniques employed by the traditional owners to thrive in their environment. Uncover the wealth of information about native foods and resources, enhancing your appreciation for the sustainable practices still prevalent today.

Challenging Terrain: Hike Details

Prepare for a moderate hike covering approximately 6-10 km, featuring sections of trackless walking and steep climbs. This journey promises both physical exertion and breathtaking views, providing a memorable and invigorating experience.

Interactive Evening Experience

As the ochre colours intensify and daylight fades, return to camp for evening snacks and a relaxion. Tonight, join in as your guide ‘knocks up’ some dinner wether it be by campfire or cooktop you can seize the opportunity to hone your fire-starting skills using nothing but sticks—tap into your inner caveman!

DAY 3 - OFFROAD & OUT OF SITE

Indulge in a leisurely breakfast before tackling some of the offroad tracks in Litchfield.  Get to the hard to get to places and hike into pristine waterfalls. 

If choosing to do the airboat ride then after lunch we move on to Finniss River Station (FRS) to join an exhilarating air boat ride across the floodplains (optional extra).  Crocodiles, birdlife and the unknown at its finest is the culmination of this memorable 3 day adventure.

In the absence of the visit to FRS today will see us finishing our explorations after lunch and making our leisurely way back to Darwin.

DAY 3 – OFFROAD & OUT OF SITE

Indulge in a leisurely breakfast before tackling some of the offroad tracks in Litchfield.  Get to the hard to get to places and hike into pristine waterfalls.  All this before Lunch !!

After lunch we move on to Finniss River Station to join an exhilarating air boat ride across the floodplains (optional extra).  Crocodiles, birdlife and the unknown at its finest is the culmination of this memorable 3 day adventure.

Expect to get back to darwin between 3 pm and 5 pm.

Pick up & Drop Off

We pick up and drop off from all accommodation options in Darwin.  Palmerston by appointment only.

Age Restrictions

Children over 7 years of age are permitted on PUBLIC group tours.  There are no age restrictions on PRIVATE CHARTERS. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Fitness

Persons of moderate fitness and agility as evidenced by the ability to walk up a flight of stairs unaided without having or feeling like you might have a heart attack are suitable for this tour

Minimum numbers

The tour when operating as a PUBLIC tour has a minimum number requirement before it is confirmed to depart.  Failure to reach this number may lead to cancelation of the tour.  ethical adventures reserves the right to cancel at any time.
