The Kakadu and Litchfield ‘Best in the wet’ experience rallies around the Top End Wet Season. It is the time to feel the power of nature and witness the bucket list shows of lightening and thunder.
Not for the faint hearted the mission is to get you amongst it.
Fly over the pounding waterfalls along the spiritual Kakadu escarpment, raft through the crocodile havens of flooded paperbark billabongs, take in sunset above the Arnhem floodplains and relax in fresh rock pools.
Back in the city enjoy the evening lightening shows from your elevated apartment balcony whilst sipping your favourite beverage of choice.
This is the ‘Best In The Wet’.

In amongst it and from the air on a 20 min scenic helicopter flight !
Depart Darwin – 0730 am
Return Darwin – 16.30 pm
Day 2 Kakadu National Park
Experience sunrise on the Adelaide River floodplains, Fogg Dam wildlife viewing and monsoonal forest walk.
Join a 1 hour scenic flight along the Arnhem Land escarpment country taking in the Waterfalls and outliers and relax aboard the Yellow Waters 90 minute wetland and wildlife cruise.
A visit to sacred Anbangbang Billabong and Nourlangie Rock is also a significant part of our day as to the cultural learning hotspot of Warradjan Aboriginal Culture Centre.
Day 3 Kakadu National Park
Spend your morning drifting through the flooded paperbarks of stately Magela Creek whilst being regaled with stories of life and culture from the charismatic local indigenous guide. Your guide will share survival tips and maybe even let you in on what lurks in the waters around on this unique seasonal experience.
For those who survive the cruise there is a bus waiting downstream ready to continue the journey to Ubirr Rock art site.
At Ubirr stories written on the face of the sandstone shelters 1000’s of years past are brought to life by your guide with plenty of time to ask those questions which such a place demands.
The climax for the morning is to be able to sit at Nadab lookout. From Nadab the sight across the Arnhem floodplains is awe inspiring. Lakes, greenery and a deep sense of stillness dominate.
From this very spot man has gazed upon the landscape for a millenia.
Following on from here you will make your way to Bowali information Centre which offers a great place to debrief over a cuppa and adsorb the last ounce of this great region before making the sad decision to return to Darwin.
Should be back at your hotel around 8 pm with memories that last a lifetime.
